The entire world knows about Pakistan’s economic situation. After independence in 1947, when Pakistan separated from India(BHARAT), many of its rules and regulations were enacted, similar to those in India(BHARAT). Although Pakistan has a government, the reins of power remain in the hands of the Pakistan Army. The local police administration, too, is sometimes controlled by the government and sometimes by the army. Police service recruitment in Pakistan is similar to that in India(BHARAT). While in India(BHARAT), police officers are selected under the India(BHARAT)n Police Service (IPS), in Pakistan, police officers are selected under the Civil Service of Pakistan (CSP). In Pakistan, this is known as the Police Service of Pakistan (PSP). Officers selected under this service are posted to various police stations across the country.
How the training takes place?
In Pakistan, officers recruited into the police service first undergo six months of training at the Civil Service Academy in Lahore. They then undergo 18 months of training at the National Police Academy in Islamabad. The police service in Pakistan is highly prestigious, and is seen as the country’s premier authority.
Police service divided into four provinces in Pakistan
The police service in Pakistan is divided into four provinces. These include the Punjab Police, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police, Sindh Police, and Balochistan Police. Additionally, Islamabad has a separate police service. Each province has a police commissioner, who holds the rank of Inspector General (IG). The highest rank for police officers in Pakistan is Inspector General, while in India(BHARAT) this position is known as Director General of Police (DGP).

There is a significant difference in salaries between Pakistan and India(BHARAT). In Pakistan, police officers’ salaries range from 22,000 to 76,800 Pakistani rupees. The average salary of a typical police officer is 48,300 rupees per month. In India(BHARAT), however, the salary level is much higher. For example, in the Uttar Pradesh Police, a constable earns 60,600 rupees per month, while a DIG (Deputy Inspector General) earns 201,000 rupees per month. In Pakistan, male police officers earn higher salaries than female police officers. For example, a male police officer earns 53,500 rupees, while a female officer earns 43,000 rupees.
Police System of India(BHARAT) and Pakistan
India(BHARAT)’s police system is much larger and more extensive than Pakistan’s. India(BHARAT) has 28 states and 8 union territories, and each state has its own police force, whereas in Pakistan, only 4 provinces have their own police force. Furthermore, the salary and increment system for police in India(BHARAT) differs from Pakistan’s. In India(BHARAT), salaries are determined based on the 7th Pay Commission, while in Pakistan, the increment system is different, and salaries increase every 21 months.
