Siddhant Awasthi is an India(BHARAT)n-origin engineer who has worked at Elon Musk-led Tesla. He started from a position of intern and rose to the position of leading as a Cybertruck chief. He announced on his LinkedIn handle that he has worked at the company for eight years and how difficult it was for him to decide to leave Tesla. He was involved in the development of multiple projects at Tesla, like Model 3, Giga Shanghai, wireless architecture, new electronics, and Cybertrucks.
How was Siddhant Awasthi’s journey at Tesla?
The journey of Cybertruck’s chief, Siddhant Awasthi, at Tesla was quite motivational. As per the US recall filings, under Awasthi’s leadership, the company produced 46,096 Cybertrucks from November 2023 to early 2024. He handled large-scale production projects, along with working on product strategy, supply chain management, and quality enhancements.
Potential reason for Siddhant Awasthi leaving Tesla
Siddhant Awasthi announced the news of leaving the company on LinkedIn. This comes after the company reported its quarterly profit decline in October for the fourth time in a row. In addition, it’s reported that the decline in the third quarter fell to $1.4 billion, i.e., 39 cents per share from the initial year.

In the LinkedIn announcement, Siddhant shared, “Eight years ago, when I started as an intern, I never dreamed I’d one day have the opportunity to lead the Cybertruck program and bring it to reality.” He added, “I recently made one of the hardest decisions of my life to leave Tesla after an incredible run. It’s been an absolute privilege filled with mostly high-intensity daysworking alongside talented, driven, and truly rockstar colleagues across Tesla.”
Siddhant expressed his gratefulness, saying, “I want to extend a huge thanks to Elon, all Tesla leaders (past and present), mentors, and our amazing customers (huge shoutout!) who’ve fuelled my drive and kept me pushing forward through it all.”
He stated, “I’m confident Tesla will nail its next big mission (especially after last week), and I’m truly excited about the next chapter of my life,” while concluding the LinkedIn post.
