Bihar Assembly Elections 2025: Ahead of the Assembly elections in Bihar, a political rift has been witnessed in the INDIA bloc following Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav recent statement. The former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav stated that the Grand Alliance will not contest the upcoming elections without a chief ministerial face. During an interview to NDTV, Yadav, who is also a prominent youth face in the Bihar politics, slammed the ruling NDA alliance saying, “Are we the Bharatiya Janata Party that we don’t have a face? We will definitely not contest the elections without projecting a chief ministerial face.”
Did Tejashwi Yadav Publicly Endorse Rahul Gandhi For The Prime Minister’s Post?
Tejashwi rolled several eyeballs of the political leaders when he publicly endorsed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for the post of Prime Minister. But on the contrary, the Congress leader refrained from declaring Yadav as CM candidate.
Speaking to the media, Gandhi said, “All the allies of the India(BHARAT) Bloc are working together without any tension and with mutual respect. We will contest the elections together, and the results will be good.”
Meanwhile, the RJD leader said that the people of Bihar will decide the CM. “Wait a little. The public will decide on the Chief Minister. But having a Chief Minister or a government isn’t the main thing. We have to build Bihar. It doesn’t matter if there’s a delay of five or ten days,” Yadav said.

Yadav stated that he has come to establish a new politics in the state where caste and religion were not discussed. “I have come to establish a new politics. One where caste and religion are not discussed, but instead development, reform, prosperity, and industry in every sector. There should be discussion on increasing per capita income and per capita investment in Bihar. Where positivity, creativity, progressiveness, and qualitative change become the foundation of politics,” news agency ANI quoted Tejashwi Yadav as saying.

Yadav, who was the Deputy Chief Minister in Nitish Kumar-led government, posted videos of his recent rallies, including in Khagaria district. He stated that the current battle in the state is for the future of youth and farmers. He alleged that CM Nitish Kumar is disconnected from the aspirations of youth and surrounded by retired officials and tired leaders.
Assembly elections in Bihar are due later this year.
