Amid tariff war, PM Modi welcomes Trump’s plan to end Gaza conflict, says, ‘will come together and…’

PM Modi: The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, has endorsed the plan proposed by President Donald J. Trump of the United States to resolve the ongoing Gaza conflict. He made this announcement on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Tuesday morning. 

PM even tagged Trump’s official accounts during this declaration. He mentioned that President Trump’s comprehensive plan gives a pathway to long-term and sustainable peace. Trump initially announced a peace plan of twenty points with the sole objective of ending the ongoing war in Gaza. The plan was stated in the Washington Post in Trump’s meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

What did PM Modi say?

In the X post of PM Modi, he wrote, “We welcome President Donald J. Trump’s announcement of a comprehensive plan to end the Gaza conflict. It provides a viable pathway to long term and sustainable peace, security and development for the Palestinian and Israeli people, as also for the larger West Asian region. We hope that all concerned will come together behind President Trump’s initiative and support this effort to end conflict and secure peace.” The tweet was uploaded on the Prime Minister’s official account on Tuesday morning.

What had President Trump said?

The statement from Modi came in response to the 20-point action plan discussed in the Washington Post during Trump’s meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

“If both sides agree to this proposal, the war will immediately end. Israeli forces will withdraw to the agreed upon line to prepare for a hostage release. During this time, all military operations, including aerial and artillery bombardment, will be suspended, and battle lines will remain frozen until conditions are met for the complete staged withdrawal,” he said.
