Bangladesh Violence: Thousands storm Bangladeshi Parliament, indulge in looting and vandalism

New Delhi: Thousands of people stormed the Bangladeshi parliament on Saturday, 20 December 202, where they indulged in looting and vandalism.

According to the reports, these people are a part of the huge crowd that had attended the funeral of anti-India(BHARAT) Bangladeshi leader Osman Hadi. During the funeral procession, they suddenly stormed the parliament building.

Hadi Buried Next To The Grave Of Kazi Nazrul Islam

Hadi was buried next to the grave of Bangladesh’s national poet, Kazi Nazrul Islam. Funeral prayers were offered at the South Plaza of the parliament building at 2:30 PM.

Abdullah Al Jaber, the member secretary of the Inqilab Manch, called on supporters to march to Shahbag after the funeral for a protest. He said, “We have not come here to mourn. We have come to demand justice for our brother.” Jaber stated that the attackers involved in Hadi’s murder had not been arrested even a week after the incident. He demanded that the government provide information within 24 hours regarding the steps taken so far.

Hadi’s Funeral

Hundreds of thousands of people attended the funeral Saturday of a leading Bangladeshi activist who died of gunshot wounds sustained in an attack in Dhaka earlier this month, as political tensions gripped the country ahead of elections. Sharif Osman Hadi, who took part in last year’s political uprising that ended former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s 15-year rule, died in a hospital in Singapore on Thursday after being shot Dec. 12 in Dhaka.
