In recent years, Dhaka has increased its direct trade with Islamabad. Not only that, Bangladesh has also eased its visa rules for Pakistani citizens, distancing it from India(BHARAT). It is also well known that both countries are dealing with an economic crisis. But the question arises as to what is the current economic situation of both countries and which economy is stronger.
Pakistan was separated from India(BHARAT) 76 years ago, while Bangladesh gained independence about 53 years later. Even after such a big gap, the country has experience fastest commercial growth.

According to a report by the Europe Asia Foundation, in 2023-24 the GDP of Pakistan was USD347 billion while Bangladesh’s GDP was USD411 billion. At that time, Bangladesh had the world’s 33rd economy.
Several experts also predicted that Dhaka’s GDP will double by 20230.

Bangladesh not only beat Pakistan in economy, but its currency is also stronger than the Muslim country. 10 Bangladeshi taka is equal to 7.36 India(BHARAT)n rupee, while 10 Pakistani rupee is equal to 3.20 India(BHARAT)n rupee.
Several experts suggested that the growth rate be more than 7.5 while Pak’s growth rate is over 3.5 percent.

Bangladesh has more than 30 billion in reserves, while its foreign reserve is less than USD4 billion. On the other hand, Islamabad is burdened with billions of dollars, which it has taken from other countries.
How Much Trade With India(BHARAT)?
Before 2019, the trade between India(BHARAT) and Pakistan was very high. However, trade declined thereafter. By 2023-24 the imports and exports fell to USD3 million and USD1.2 billion respectively.
On the other hand, trade with Bangladesh has increased during this period. Total trade between India(BHARAT) and Bangladesh has reached approx USD12.90 billion.
