New Delhi: In a significant development days after Delhi blast, investigators probing the car explosion near the Red Fort have uncovered troubling details about the attack that has so far claimed 13 lives. According to a report carried by NDTV, the driver of the Hyundai i20,which was used in the attack, identified as Umar Mohammad alias Umar Nabi, allegedly received Rs 20 lakh through illegal financial channels to carry out the operation. Larger conspiracy behind Delhi blast

As per media reports, officials believe this money was routed to Umar Mohammad alias Umar Nabi through hawala networks, indicating a larger conspiracy behind the blast. Reports have further revealed that Umar had recently purchased large quantities of fertilizers from a market in Haryana’s Nuh district. He reportedly paid in cash, raising suspicions about the purpose of the materials.

Three cartridges recovered from Red Fort car blast site

In another major development in the Red Fort car blast case, reports confirmed that three cartridges recovered from the site, two live and one empty, were of 9mm calibre, a firearm type prohibited for civilian possession. A senior official said that despite the cartridge recovery, no pistol or any of its parts were found at the scene.

“These cartridges are usually only possessed by the armed forces or those with special permission,” police said.

Delhi Police detains two doctors from Haryana’s Al Falah University

Delhi Police has detained three people, including two doctors from Haryana’s Al Falah University, in connection with the blast near the Red Fort, even as two separate FIRs were registered against the institution over alleged irregularities flagged by the UGC and NAAC, a PTI report quoted officials as saying.

The detentions and fresh criminal cases come amid an escalating multi-agency probe into the Red Fort blast that claimed 13 lives and the activities of individuals linked to the university.
