Israel Raids Hamas Compounds In Rafah Amid Israeli Defence Minister’s Trip To US For ‘Critical Talks’ On Gaza War

Israel Hamas War Latest Update: Israel and Palestine, who had been at conflict for the last many decades, have now been at war for the last nearly nine months. The terrorist organisation Hamas fired 5000 rockets on Israel from Gaza on October 7 and ever since, the war hasn’t stopped and the destruction and death toll only continues to rise. Just recently, Israel launched multiple attacks on Rafah and while ‘attacking Hamas compounds’, the forces killed several civilians including women and children. In a latest development, Israel has raided the Hamas compounds in Rafah again, seizing weapons and intelligence documents and also uncovering tunnel shafts. While the attack on Rafah to ‘destroy Hamas compounds’ continues, Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant has headed to the United States, for ‘critical talks’ on the Gaza War.

Israel Raids Hamas Compounds In Rafah

As mentioned earlier, the Israeli military pressed operations in the Rafah area on Sunday, destroying two Hamas compounds in the southern Gaza city and seizing numerous weapons, the Israel Defense Forces said on Sunday. In Rafah’s Tel al-Sultan neighborhood, Israeli forces raided a Hamas compound that served as a training ground for Hamas’s Tel al-Sultan Brigade. Soldiers located the office of the brigade’s commander, Mahmoud Hamdan, along with weapons storage facilities and several tunnel shafts. The IDF is in the process of examining and destroying the tunnel shafts and dismantling the compound.

In the area of the compound, soldiers also raided the office of the Commander of Rocket and Missile Fire in Hamas’ Rafah Brigade, Yasser Nett, who has been responsible for multiple rocket attacks into Israel and against Israeli troops in Gaza. Parallel to that, soldiers raiding a second Hamas compound in the Rafah area seized large quantities of weapons and intelligence documents and uncovered more tunnel shafts.

This raid on Hamas compounds in Rafah comes after an attack on the destroyed weapons caches inside a Gaza University, residential homes and a rocket launching site inside a humanitarian zone.

Israeli Defence Minister Heads To US For ‘Critical Talks’

The Defence Minister of Israel, Yoav Gallant has gone to Washington, United States for ‘critical talks’ with the country, regarding the Israel Hamas War. Recently, Israeli PM Netanyahu has said that he is hopeful that the unfreezing of US arms and ammunition deliveries will be a speedy progress which recently has dropped off sharply. The rising civilian death toll in Gaza had quite an impact on the mind of the US President Joe Biden; however, US officials said that they did not know what the Israeli PM meant, when speaking about the arms issue.
