Netherlands enter this fixture riding high on their first victory in the competition, pulling off a stunning upset against South Africa in a shortened match at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala. Sri Lanka, on the other hand, enter this match after a three-match losing streak, with their latest defeat handed to them by Australia in Lucknow.

Both teams have experienced diverse playing conditions. The Netherlands, led by Scott Edwards, faced Pakistan and New Zealand on batting-friendly tracks in Hyderabad. They then took on South Africa in Dharamsala on a pitch that was more challenging. Kusal Mendis’ Sri Lanka took on South Africa on a batting paradise in Delhi and played their subsequent game on a similar wicket against Pakistan in Hyderabad.

The Ekana Stadium has already witnessed a mix of results in the two matches held there. The first match saw a team struggling in a steep run chase, while the second witnessed the team batting first not finding it easy to score free runs.

Netherlands vs Sri Lanka, Ekana Stadium Pitch report

Historically, the wickets at the Ekana Stadium during the IPL were slow and assisted the spinners. However, the track has been relaid for the World Cup and this has seen good matches at the venue.

In the last match, Sri Lanka struggled to amass only 209 runs, as Australian spinners asserted their dominance. Australia, in reply, comfortably chased down the target with more than 14 overs to spare.
