Bollywood star Preity Zinta sooner or later has a T20 league title to her name. Preity has co-owned T20 league franchises since the Indian Premier League (IPL) became launched in 2007 along with former beau Ness Wadia and Mohit Burman – owning Punjab Kings (formerly Kings XI Punjab). At last the 17-year-wait is over with Preity Zinta co-owned St Lucia Kings won the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024 title, defeating defending champions Guyana Amazon Warriors by six wickets within the final with 11 balls to spare.

It became the first-ever T20 franchise league title for the trio of Preity Zinta, Mohit Burman and Ness Wadia. The closest they'd come became the 2014 IPL final, when Kings XI Punjab lost to Gautam Gambhir-led Kolkata Knight Riders. The Kings were led by current Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Faf du Plessis.
