Namibian Captain Gerhard Erasmus Makes Special Request To BCCI After CSA Announces T20I Series Against India

New Delhi: Soon after India’s tour of South Africa was officially made public on Friday, Namibian captain Gerhard Erasmus made a special request to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on a social media. India will play South Africa in a four-match T20I series starting from November 8. It is almost usual for any visiting team to play warm-up games before the actual series.

In regards to that, Erasmus offered India to play the warm-up games against Namibia to prepare for the South African series. “Hey @BCCI, warm-up in Windhoek?” wrote Erasmus on social media platform ‘X’ (formerly Twitter). Associate nations like Namibia do not get to play big teams throughout the year.

Instead, they had to wait for the ICC tournaments like ODI World Cup and T20 World Cup to rub shoulders with the big boys of world cricket. If the BCCI accepts the Namibian offer, it will be a huge moment in the African nation’s cricketing history. Erasmus didn’t stop there.

Replying to a fan’s comment, Erasmus urged the BCCI to play two T20Is against Namibia. “And 2 with Namibia please,” he wrote further.
